Initiative #3:
Comprehensive Promotion

In addition to our regular Instagram coverage, we also provide content that serves and represents our publication for its growth and recognition on campus. These promotional posts have a different purposes, they not only bring attention to the work our staff does to provide quality journalism in a variety of mediums, but also help build awareness and interest in the Prospector in general. This includes posting graphics related to online news articles, publishing videos that announce the release of new print issues, and welcoming students to apply for staff positions through graphic recruitment announcements. We also promote new podcast releases, offering students another way to hear diverse voices and opinions from community members. These postings allow us to reach segments of our audience that are not fans of photo-centric content. By keeping up a variety of content on social media, we are creating a varied online presence that reflects the work that our publication does as a whole and keeps the student body informed and interested.

Issue Promotion

As each issue comes to an end, we release of print issue promotion videos once magazines are distributed to classrooms. This brings greater awareness to each individual article and maximizes interest from readers.

Podcast Promotion

With each new Issue, the publication also publishes a new podcast episode on Spotify, discussing a variety of topics.

Online Article Promotion

Coinciding with our more widely known print articles, online articles are also published to our website according to the print cycles. To promote online section, we distribute graphics among staffers to compile them into an enticing promotional slideshow.

*The Issue 1 online article promotion post was our second most popular post of the year, with over 12,000 views. This statistic shows that these promotional graphics have significant reach and are extremely effective in guiding readers towards our website.

Application Promotion

Moving into the end of the year, the application process for our new staff begins. These promotional videos and graphics are some of the most vital, as they allow interested students to join the class and continue to grow our perspectives and range.
